TU Inspiratie Centrum

TU Inspiratie Centrum

For various locations across the Netherlands, Technische Unie has created Inspiration Centers designed to showcase, demonstrate, and combine their product range for customers. For IC Zwolle, the focus was placed on visualizing the journey toward increasingly sustainable installation solutions. The aim was to make the transition process tangible. Highlighting innovations, possibilities, and the steps installers can take toward a more energy‑efficient future.

Sonos immersive pavilion exterior
CES26

Sound is invisible. You can't touch it, you can't hold it up for a photo. So how do you build an exhibition around something people can only experience in the moment? That was the core challenge Sonos brought to us. They wanted visitors to walk away not with a spec sheet, but with a memory — the feeling of standing inside music itself.

We started from silence. Literally. The journey begins in an anechoic chamber that strips away all ambient noise, resetting the visitor's ears. From there, each room adds a new layer of spatial audio, building toward a climactic listening room where 48 speakers create a fully three-dimensional soundscape. The architecture serves the sound, not the other way around.

Interior of the silence chamber

The pavilion's exterior is a windowless matte-black monolith, deliberately stark against the neon chaos of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Inside, the transition is immediate: soft acoustic panels absorb every footstep, and carefully calibrated lighting guides visitors from room to room. Each space is tuned not just acoustically but emotionally — from the meditative calm of the silence chamber to the euphoric crescendo of the main hall.

The final listening room seats 24 people on a rotating platform. As the platform slowly turns, the spatial audio mix shifts around the audience, demonstrating Sonos's latest processing technology in the most visceral way possible. No screens, no text — just sound, space, and architecture working as one.
